In the last webinar there was raised some concern regarding the confidentiality in the coachings we record and a question about why we record the coachings. I’ll try to explain how come.
When we (re-)listen to our coachings, we learn a lot more than from memory only. In our coachings, we are in the now and focused on delivering a good value for the client. So a recording offers a unique way of learning by re-visiting what happened and reflecting on that.
We follow the Codes of Ethics of ICF in our conversations. In plain English, that means (amongst others):
there is always a goal for the conversation agreed by the client and
we respect the client and her/his topics and when the conversation is over, it’s over
Read them all: https://coachfederation.org/code-of-ethics
We will cover the ethics during your training, but if it is not obvious to you how please let me know and I’ll do my best to make it more visible.
The simple rule is to make sure that the client knows about the recording and in advance can agree or say no.
