Hi everyone. I just had a really interesting coaching session. The coachee had 2 scales. Some days are a 2 and some days are an 8. It seemed really powerful to ask about these separately. First "for the days when at the moment it's an 8, what would you notice differently for it to be a 9"....this revealed more clarity about what the coachee's ideal future would be like. Then we talked about the days when it's a 2 and what would be different if it was a 3. This revealed small things that I think could trigger small changes to make things better. For my last few coaching sessions I had finished by describing the resources I saw in the coachee. This felt a bit weird, like reading a school report. I watched the video from last Friday's workshop and was really intrigued by the idea of asking the coachee to "listen back" to the things they had said and to notice what resources they have within themselves. This was really cool because the coachee then came up with 3 really great strengths. This brought a big smile to their face and I think will help to grow confidence. I found this a really great way to finish the session and will definitely try it again.
